Meet Our Speech-Language Pathologists


Erica James, M.A., CCC-SLP
Erica R. James, M.A., CCC-SLP:
Erica is the Manager of the Speech and Language Department. department. She has completed advanced training in laryngeal stroboscopic voice and swallowing assessment and has expertise in Estill and Lessac Madsen Resonant Voice Training techniques. She has also completed training in High Resolution Impedance Manometry and Impedance pH assessment. Erica is a registered MBSImP Clinician, allowing for standarized interpretation of Modified Barium Swallow studies and is a Buteyko Breathing SLP BE Level 1 clinician, with specific training in techniques for vocal fold related breathing disorders. She is nationally certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, (LSVT) and also certified to provide LSVT by computer directly to people's home computers.

Erica has been an invited presenter at the Annual Vocal Cord Dysfunction Conference at National Jewish Hospital Medical Center in Denver, CO. She has presented on voice treatment at regional and national conferences. Erica is a past President of the Maine Speech Language Hearing Association.


Nathan H. Curtis

Nathan H. Curtis, M.A., CCC-SLP: Nathan is the Coordinator of Clinical Services for the speech department. He has many years experience working with preschool and school-aged children using a family-systems approach. He has worked extensively with adolescents with language learning disabilities. He has skills in applying technology in his work. Nathan routinely utilizes programs to create authentic and individualized take-home digital stories to extend treatment to home.

Nathan provides speech telepractice services to preschool and school-aged children. He has expertise in coaching teachers. He has presented at state and national conferences on coaching teachers, speech telepractice, and integrating speech therapy services into school curricula.


Jennifer WhitcombJennifer Whitcomb, M.A., CCC-SLP: Jennifer has extensive experience and expertise working with children and families. She has training in the acclaimed Hanen Parent Training Program.

Jennifer served as a primary language/literacy consultant in one of America's premier Early Reading First projects, providing literacy services to preschool children and teachers in Waldo County. She has expertise coaching teachers and provides telepractice speech therapy to preschool and school-aged children in Maine.

Jennifer presents workshops at state and national conferences on early literacy, coaching teachers, and speech telepractice services.



LaNae MolineLaNae Moline, M.A., CCC-SLP & A: LaNae has extensive experience in a variety of specialized settings and is certified in both Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. She is the only active Speech Pathologist in Maine with these credentials.

LaNae has expertise in augmentative communication devices and specialized intervention for children with autism. She is a Level III certification candidate in the DIR/Floortime method for children. LaNae utilizes telemedicine/video-conferencing to work with children in remote locations using high tech speech devices and coaching parents in DIR/Floortime activities right in their homes.


Amy Reid Amy C. Reid, M.A., CCC-SLP Amy provides online speech telepractice services with preschool and school-aged children throughout Maine. She is a lead instructor and mentor in our National Center for Speech Telepractice training. Amy regularly creates and customizes digital speech therapy materials to meet individual client needs. Amy provides online coaching to teachers and parents.

Amy has presented at national conferences on speech telepractice and developing partnerships with teachers and parents to maximize client outcomes. She has mentored graduate students and their faculty in building competencies to provide speech telepractice services.



Hannah HollandHannah Richards, M.A., CCC-SLP: Hannah is a graduate of the University of Maine. She has worked in a variety of settings including classrooms, homes and special purpose early intervention programs. Hannah has expertise using American Sign Language and has worked with children who are hearing impaired and use hearing aids or cochlear implants. Hannah enjoys working closely with families.

Hannah has completed trainings on coaching, sensory integration approaches to speech therapy and the Hanen Parent Training Program. In addition, Hannah is certified in LSVT/Lee Silverman Voice Training for people with Parkinson's disease.


Jean Ashland, Ph.D. CCC-SLP

Jean Ashland, Ph.D., CCC-SLP: Dr. Ashland provides consultation, evaluation and treatment of feeding and swallowing disorders and anchors The Pediatric Feeding and Swallowing Center of Maine team. She previously worked at Massachusetts General Hospital and was a member of the pediatric feeding/swallowing and craniofacial teams. Dr. Ashland is a well-known expert in her field having written book chapters and journal articles about pediatric swallowing. She also provides direct speech therapy services with children for both in-person and telepractice delivery approaches.



Zoe Kennedy, M.A., CF-SLPZoe Kennedy, M.A., CCC-SLP: Zoe completed her graduate education in communication sciences and disorders at the University of Maine. Zoe has made national presentations to various professional groups.

Zoe has received advanced training in swallowing assessment using fiberoptic imaging, radiographic imaging, and manometry. She is nationally certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment, a standardized treatment program for voice disorders secondary to Parkinson's disease.

At WCGH, Zoe provides in-person and telepractice services to adults with swallowing, voice, cognitive, speech and language disorders and to children with speech and language disorders.

Jessica Wilbur

Jessica Austin, M.A., CCC-SLP: Jessie provides speech therapy services to preschool and school-aged children. She is a highly experienced clinician in providing speech telepractice.

Jessie has presented at national conferences on topics of coaching teachers and effective practices in telepractice. Jessie's regarded as a highly effective clinician working with students having dysfluencies and stuttering.



Megan Elizabeth Jackson

Megan E. Khammang, M.A., CCC-SLP: Megan provides in-person and telepractice evaluations and therapy to preschool and school-aged students. She offers teacher coaching and support for literacy initiatives in the classroom. She is well known for her ability to work collaboratively with teachers in their classroom.




Sara Palazzo, M.S., CCC-SLP

Sara Palazzo, M.S., CCC-SLP: Sara is a graduate of University of Louisiana at Monroe. She provides speech and language therapy at preschool sites. She has experience working in pediatrics and elder care at skilled facilities. She previously worked at CDS in the Ellsworth area. Sara moved to Maine with her husband to raise their two girls. She enjoys working with teachers and parents using a family systems approach. Sara also provides telepractice sessions with preschool and school-aged students.



Kayla Labrie, M.A., CF-SLP

Kayla LaBrie, M.A., CCC-SLP: Kayla is a graduate of the University of Maine earning a Master's Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a graduate certificate in disabilities studies. Kayla provides in-person and telepractice sessions for preschool and school-aged students.





Jen Littlefield, SLPA

Jennifer Littlefield, A.S., SLPA: Jen has an associates degree in Early Childhood Education and an associates degree in Speech and Language. She has nineteen years experience in working with preschoolers with the last twelve years providing speech therapy. As a speech assistant, Jen will be supervised by Jennifer Whitcomb, M.A., CCC-SLP and provide services at preschool sites in Waldo County.
